This 47-acre site, located on the edge of the urban service boundary of Versailles, is a 20-minute walk from Main Street. The plan, designed in a public charrrette process, continues the exemplary qualities of Elm Street— inviting houses, wide sidewalks, and street trees—throughout this seamless extension of the existing historic neighborhood. The plan establishes a definite town edge, distinguishing town from country. This distinction will prevent undefined suburban sprawl from compromising the most cherished characteristics of both town and countryside.
